Sylvan BioSciences invites qualified applicants to submit their current resumes, including references, for the position of Industrial Mycologist.

Job Description
Responsibilities will include leading research projects resulting in producing new and existing fungal based products for commercial use. This will include design of program structure, strategies and architecture, development, refinement, validation and implementation of commercial products.
Skills needed include management of laboratory operations and testing programs, supervision of personnel, interactions with other departments, as well as interactions with industry.

Qualifications and Requirements
An advanced degree, or several years of equivalent work experience, in mycology including identification, isolation and growth optimization of fungi. Proficiency in aseptic technique throughout the growth process from lab bench to production scale is necessary. Comprehensive working knowledge of fungi with regard to taxonomy, physiology and ecology is required. Experience growing fungi, including mastery of aseptic technique for isolation of wild strains for culturing and solid substrate fermentation is preferred. Applicant should possess well developed editorial, writing and presentation skills
