Distinguished Professorship in Medical Mycology - University of Georgia

The Department of Microbiology at the University of Georgia invites applications for a Distinguished Professorship in Medical Mycology pending approval from the Board of Regents. The successful candidate must have demonstrated an outstanding record in externally funded research and scholarly publications consistent with appointment at the rank of Associate Professor or newly promoted Professor.  Applicants must have a Ph.D. or equivalent degree in Microbiology or a related discipline. The successful candidate is expected to maintain an active research program and contribute to the department’s teaching mission. This is a 9-month appointment with a start date of August 11, 2017. Qualified applicants are invited to submit a curriculum vitae, a one page statement of research interests, a one page teaching philosophy, and have three letters of recommendation submitted directly by the references online at http://facultyjobs.uga.edu/postings/1490 .  Applicants are encouraged to include a brief narrative in their teaching statement of how they plan to implement the NSF/AAAS “Vision and Change” core concepts in biology education (http://visionandchange.org/).
