MSA International Travel Awards 2010: Call for applications
At the Annual Council Meeting in August 2009 in Snowbird, Utah, MSA Council approved a competition for eight International Travel awards of $750 each to be awarded to graduate students or postdoctoral fellows for travel to the International Mycological Congress 9 (IMC9) in Edinburgh, Scotland, from August 1st to 6th, 2010.
Application deadline: Received by 15th March 2010 (early applications appreciated).
Requirements: Applicants must be:
- graduate students or postdoctoral fellows
- MSA members
- presenting a paper or poster at IMC9
Documents required:
- A cover letter requesting consideration for an MSA International Travel Award. Provide telephone number and, if available, fax number and email address, and include information on any past MSA Travel Award(s). If matching funds are available from the applicant’s institution, provide an address the committee can use to officially verify the receipt of an award.
- Abstract of paper or poster (note which).
- Curriculum vita.
- A one page description of the research project including an explanation of how this award will further the applicant’s research/study.
- A letter of support from the applicant’s major professor addressing the applicant’s abilities and potential and briefly summarizing the applicant’s current research.
