
Thomas Victor
Tommy is a recent graduate from Cornell University who completed a major in Plant Sciences with a minor in Fungal Biology. At Cornell, Tommy led the Fantastic Fungi Fanatics, a student club for those casually or professionally interested in mycology. He also worked at the fungal herbarium where he worked on a research project studying cup fungi from the Canary Islands with Dr. Teresa Iturriaga. Tommy worked with Dr. Teresa Pawlowska to complete an Honors Thesis studying an endosymbiotic bacterium of arbuscular mycorrhizal fungi. Tommy is broadly interested in fungal ecology and symbioses, and will be pursuing a PhD at the University of Florida in Plant Pathology, advised by Dr. Matt Smith.

The purpose of the Society is to promote and advance the science of mycology and to foster and encourage research and education in mycology in all its aspects. Members of the MSA meet annually to exchange information and build understanding of fungi
