With novel single nuclei genomic tools we are able to generate genomic data from these enigmatic fungi. The candidate will annotate AM genomes generated in our lab and perform comparative genomic analyses. Topics of interest to the group include the MAT locus, copy number variation and analysis of transposable elements. Further the candidate will be involved in ongoing comparative genomic analyses of species within the Archaeorhiozomycetes.

Applications are invited for a 2-year Postdoctoral Research Associate to study fungal biochemistry/microbiology and how some unique non-enzymatic chemistries may have evolved in saprotrophic fungi to be active in human pathogenesis. The appointee is expected to function collaboratively to explore Basidiomycota fungal mechanisms for generation of oxygen radicals through non-enzymatic pathways, and exploration of nonenzymatic pathways in pathogenicity.
