Insect-Pathogen Interactions – Entomopathogenic Fungi.
The USDA, ARS Emerging Pest and Pathogen Research Unit located on the Cornell University campus in Ithaca, NY will be hiring a full time Mycologist/Insect Pathologist in the near future. The incumbent will serve as the Curator of the ARS Collection of Entomopathogenic Fungal Collections (ARSEF, https://data.nal.usda.gov/dataset/ars-collection-entomopathogenic-fungal-cultures-arsef) and will develop an independent research program involving, but not limited to, fungal systematics, insect pathology, host-pathogen interactions, microbial transmission and/or insect control. As curator, the incumbent will oversee the technical staff that handles the day to day operation of the collection. They will also be responsible for maintaining and expanding the culture accessions. The research program is expected to independently and collaboratively utilize the resources of the collection to advance aspects of agricultural production, food safety, and/or public health. The incumbent is also expected to become a member of the Cornell University community and an adjunct faculty member of an appropriate department.
