DETROIT airport (DTW)
Detroit Airport (DTW) is an international airport about 1.5 hr drive from MSU. There is an excellent bus service called Michigan Flyer from DTW to downtown East Lansing (333 Albert Street in front of the Marriott Hotel). The bus takes about 2 hr and has WiFi. The stop is about 1 mile from the Kellogg Center. For schedules and reservations, see the Michigan Flyer website. The Kellogg Center offers a FREE shuttle to and from the Michigan Flyer stop in East Lansing. Call the Kellogg Center for details (800-875-5090).

The train runs once a day to East Lansing from Chicago or from Port Huron. The trip from Chicago is about 4 hr. The station is 1 mile from the Kellogg Center at 1240 South Harrison Road. There are actually two trains from Chicago: the Blue Water runs directly to East Lansing. If you take the Wolverine, you will have to transfer to a bus in Battle Creek, Michigan, to get to East Lansing.
We have made arrangements for special rates at the Kellogg Center, which is also the venue of the entire conference. It is in quadrant B3 on the campus map. All attendees should make their own reservations. Their phone number for reservations is (800) 875-5090 and the general phone number is (517) 432-4000, or else make reservations on-line (instructions below). Tell them that you are with the Mycological Society of America and give them the Group Code: MSA060814. The special room rate is guaranteed only until May 1, after which time the unsold rooms will be released to the general public.
If sharing a room at the Kellogg Center, only one person should make the room reservation, but add the name of the roommate in the ‘special requests’ field. Bills can be split (with pre-payment) at check-in or at check-out.
Parking is available in the adjacent parking ramp. The Kellogg provides free shuttle service to and from the Lansing airport and the Michigan Flyer – call 800-875-5090 or email email@example.com.
