The ideal applicant should be familiar with field and laboratory-based experimental approaches that utilize methodologies such as genetics, functional genomics, metabolomics, and novel microscopy. The appointee is expected to teach undergraduate and graduate courses, mentor graduate and undergraduate students, and participate in campus service and outreach relevant to the California Agricultural Experiment Station https://cnas.ucr.edu/resources/agricultural-experiment-station.

The Department of Nematology:

Faculty and their graduate students are highly collaborative with campus programs, including Plant Pathology, Microbiology, Entomology, Ecology & Organismal Biology, Genetics, Genomics, & Bioinformatics, Plant Biology, Evolution, and Biomedical Sciences.

Qualifications:

A Ph.D. or an equivalent research doctorate in plant pathology, nematology, mycology, microbiology, entomology, or a closely related field is required at the time of application. Postdoctoral training and proven scholarly productivity are preferred. Expertise in biological control of plant-parasitic nematodes is desirable.

Applications:

Candidates must apply through https://apptrkr.com/3567707 and include a cover letter, curriculum vitae, and separate research and teaching interest statements.
