Company Information
The phrase originally described institutions that preserve plant genetics for agriculture, and the cannabis trade borrowed it in the 1980s. Today a feminized seed bank is simply a retailer or breeder that specialises in all-female stock, though a few still maintain archives of older landrace lines. The Netherlands hosted most of the early companies because of its tolerant policy on seed sales. Spain, the United Kingdom, Canada, and the United States have since developed their own industries.
