Study root associated fungi in the Amazon rainforest!

A postdoctoral position is available in the Peay Lab at Stanford University to study how root associated fungi and plant chemical defenses influence tree populations in the Amazon rainforest. Primary responsibilities for the position involve collection of plant samples from field sites and the use of amplicon sequencing to characterize fungal communities. Field work and data analysis will be carried out in collaboration with a team of plant and chemical ecologists from UC Berkeley

(Dr. Paul Fine) and Florida International University (Dr. Diego Salazar Amoretti). Additional opportunities to develop independent research projects within the framework of the grant will be available. See additional information here.
