The Special Topics Award is currently unavailable
In 2018 and 2019 a generous anonymous donor contributed funds to MSA to support research by our members. The donor is passionate about forests and translational mycology and MSA respected their wishes by sponsoring special calls for proposals that contribute to a greater understanding of fungal interactions in old growth forests, other unique or endangered ecosystems, or applied mycology. To our donor: Thank you!
These awards support studies in the area of Applied Mycology. The awards have been used to support investigations involving applications of fungi to practical and innovative problems. Examples of topics responsive to this request include: bioremediation, bioprospecting, food or crop protection, bioenergy production, ecosystem sustainability and many others. Proposals may include budgets requesting funds for research expenditures, travel (e.g. to support training in a host laboratory or a workshop), or equipment purchase. This award was issued in 2018 and 2019.
