Carolyn Cornell
Carolyn Cornell is currently an Oak Ridge Institute for Science and Education (ORISE) Postdoctoral Fellow working with the U.S. Forest Service and Colorado State University. Prior to this role, she was a Postdoctoral Research Associate at Rice University, where she investigated the impact of carbon solid soil amendments on microbial biogeochemical cycling. Carolyn received a B.S. and M.S. in Biology from the University of Tulsa and earned her Ph.D. in Microbiology from the University of Oklahoma. Since 2020, she has served as a moderator for the International Forum on Advanced Environmental Sciences and Technology seminar series, which brings together eminent scientists to share their most recent research advances. Her research focuses on microbial ecology in agricultural systems, particularly the interactions between microbial communities and the influence of agricultural management and environmental changes on microbial community dynamics and ecosystem services.

The purpose of the Society is to promote and advance the science of mycology and to foster and encourage research and education in mycology in all its aspects. Members of the MSA meet annually to exchange information and build understanding of fungi
