Sean O’Gorman
Sean O’Gorman is a first-generation college student majoring in Ecology and Evolutionary Biology and an undergraduate researcher in the Kivlin Lab at the University of Tennessee, Knoxville. His research examines how plant-mycorrhizal interactions change under allelopathic invasion, with the goal of understanding how these interactions shape community structure. While Sean works to understand soil microbial networks and fungal interactions, he also serves as President of the Naturalists’ Club at UT where he hopes to share his passion for ecology, fungi, and being outdoors with others.

The purpose of the Society is to promote and advance the science of mycology and to foster and encourage research and education in mycology in all its aspects. Members of the MSA meet annually to exchange information and build understanding of fungi
